About

Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist

Private Practice I am an enthusiastic speech-language pathologist with a passion for working with children on the autism spectrum. Since graduating with my master's degree in 2019, I have worked in the private practice setting. This has given me the opportunity to serve children ranging from 18 months to 18 years with numerous communication differences and disorders. I have continued my education in my areas of passion including gestalt language processors, selective mutism, childhood apraxia of speech, and presuming competence. With my experience in the private practice setting over the last 6 years, I have become proficient in working alongside caregivers and across disciplines to provide individualized and collaborative therapy, supported by evidence, in a play-based approach. Education I completed my both my Bachelor's and Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders at Marshall University. During my time at Marshall, I participated in over 375 hours of clinical work with an area of emphasis in pediatrics with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disorders/delays. I participated in multiple Marshall University clinic-based programs providing direct speech, language, and cognitive therapy. These therapies extended from pediatric to adult populations allowing me to witness and support a range of abilities and disorders. Marshall University was where I gained my passion for working with those on the Autism Spectrum. Through my time as a graduate assistant at the Autism Training Center I was given the first-hand opportunity to support young adults on the autism spectrum navigating the college experience. In addition, I had clinical rotations in both medical and school-based placements allowing me the opportunity for a diverse and holistic view of the Speech-Language Pathology scope of practice.
